Locus Sonus, funded by the Ministère de la Culture Française and part of the Ecole Superieur d’Art d’Aix, is a research group whose primary interest is to “explore the ever-evolving relationship between sound, place and usage” (https://locusonus.org). Their methodology places artistic experimentation at the center of research. Multidisciplinary theoretical approaches dialogue with, nourish and nurture this experimentation and the research sometimes (but not systematically) leads to artistic productions in the form of installations, performances, concerts and web-based projects. Beyond this, Locus Sonus regularly publishes research in recognized journals and takes on an editorial role for special issues. The eco-art project ck-flor (Lancaster, PA) is one of only seven sound installations in the US (as of 2023) and is the only one in PA. It is a live stream of floral bioelectric activity, compost de/recomposition, blank vinyl, and other sound elements
