How We Hear Now

Featured artist, How We Hear Now, a participatory, collective artwork created by The ECOPOESIS Project (2021). A multi-year initiative led by the Architectural Ecologies Lab and MFA in Writing program at California College of the Arts. The project was initiated in the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, a response by the Ecopoesis Project to continue their collaborative explorations of emotions and thought towards action around climate change. Artists produced environmental sound recordings on April 22 (Earth Day) and descriptions of ecological or cultural factors. It was on view as a large-scale public projection (with audio available by mobile device) at the San Francisco Ferry Building from June 25 to July 10, 2021. It also was broadcast live on the Architectural Ecologies Labs Twitch.
